Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Wolves in Frank Lampard’s first game as caretaker manager. Three people were arrested by Wolves because of homophobic chants heard during Saturday’s Premier League game at Molineux. The stadium staff also sent a warning over the PA system that any discriminatory behaviour or chants will not be tolerated. Finally, the statement issued by Wolves stressed that homophobia and all other forms of discrimination have no place in both football and society.
The club stated that it will give all the support needed to the police in order to investigate. Chelsea explained that any type of discriminatory behaviour is not tolerated and must be eliminated from football. The Premier League said that there is no space for chants like homophobic or discriminating yells in football or society at all.
