How can we get women’s soccer in front of as many eyes as possible?
With phenomenal talent in the women’s game, both in the United States and around the world, and few places to watch that talent shine, ata football founders Esmeralda Negron and Hannah Brown asked themselves this question.
The two friends, roommates and like-minded thinkers, joined forces in 2019 to transform the women’s soccer landscape. Negron’s experience as a Princeton soccer star, professional player and college coach paired with Brown’s 10-year history as a Sky Sports executive gave them the knowledge and resources they needed to kickstart their mission of growing and transforming the women’s soccer landscape.
The first order of business? To make top-level matches from leagues around the world more easily accessible and shine a light on all the women’s game has to offer. They sought to make the days of having to search the depths of the internet for impossible-to-find streams a thing of the past.
Their solution was to create a central hub for all things women’s soccer. By attracting leagues from around the world including the Women’s Super League (England), Serie A Femminile (Italy), Frauen Bundesliga (Germany), D1 Arkema (France) and Primera Iberdrola (Spain) as well as an impressive list of premier broadcasters such as DAZN, BT Sport, Sky Sports, and NBC, they created a home base for fans, coaches and players to live stream matches and follow the talented athletes guiding the women’s game forward today.

Negron and Brown have already made considerable inroads in the push to land women’s soccer center stage. However, the dream goes beyond what they’ve already accomplished.
Negron explained that “The future goal of ata football is to create this really amazing community of women’s football fans…to make it accessible…and really engage fans for the first time in a meaningful way.”
Beyond live matches and game highlights, ata football hopes to be an educational resource as well by providing what Negron described as “player development content featuring top women’s players in the world that coaches can use to educate their players.”
Fan interaction and viewership have the remarkable potential to shape the course of women’s football by celebrating the accomplishments of these incredible athletes, supporting them on their journey, increasing revenue for clubs and inspiring and ushering in a new generation of top-level athletes.
It’s an exciting time for women’s soccer and all eyes will be on ata football as they continue to plant themselves at the heart of all this growth and shaping of the women’s soccer landscape.
