Belgium vs Austria Euro 2024 qualifiers

A second-half goal from Romelu Lukaku allowed Belgium to secure a draw against Austria in the Euro 2024 qualifiers at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.

Lukaku, the forward from Chelsea, executed a skilful turn with the ball, having initially received it with his back to the goal, to skillfully circumvent the Austrian defence and shoot the ball past goalkeeper Alexander Schlager.

Austria had previously gained the advantage thanks to Michael Gregoritsch, whose quick strike was deflected past Thibaut Courtois, Belgium’s keeper.

Austria maintains their position at the head of Group F, while Belgium holds firm in second place.

Despite the absence of Kevin de Bruyne due to a hamstring injury incurred during Manchester City’s Champions League final triumph, Lukaku’s goal marked one of the two attempts on target by the Belgian team.

Belgium is set to play Estonia in their upcoming match on Tuesday (19:45 BST), coinciding with Austria’s match at home against Sweden.

That’s it lads, Lukaku saving the day again. Shame de Bruyne was out, could’ve tipped the scales big time!

Was watching the stats, Belgium was dominating possession and shots. just couldn’t convert, 1 goal outta 17 shots ain’t enough
