by admin

Tom Wyatt kicked off the scoring for Exeter in their match by getting his second try in two games. The result of the game was that Exeter managed to beat Stormers 42-17 and this earned them a spot in one of the semi-finals for the Heineken Champions Cup. Sam Simmonds scored another try in the second half which secured the win.

Damian Willemse, Suleiman Hartzenberg and Marvin Orie scored goals for Stormers, while Jack Yeandle and Tom Cairns helped securing the win for Exeter.

Chiefs will either travel to Bordeaux to take on La Rochelle as defending champions or play a match against Saracens at Bristol’s Ashton Gate for their semi-final game.

Because of Toulouse beating Sharks earlier on Saturday, the Stormers’ loss means that there are no more South African teams left in this year’s Champions Cup.

Exeter Scorches Stormers in 33-33 Match to Qualify for Next Round!

Exeter became qualified to the next round in an exciting way, since they scored more points than Montpellier did in their 33-33 match from last weekend. This event seems to have brought a new energy to Exeter’s season at just the best moment.

Wyatt scored his first try for the Chiefs during this European game against the French group, and he added up another try to his name after running for Joe Simmonds’ accurate long pass, which became their first point.

Nowell, the captain, showed off his amazing skill as he moved from the ruck to get away from defenders of Stormers. He used both power and trickery in order to score a touchdown right under the goalposts.

Woodburn came back to play after he couldn’t play in the Montpellier game. He was causing a lot of trouble and his hard work paid off when they did a line-out move on the training ground. O’Brien passed the ball to Woodburn who ran past the last defender and scored a try!

At half-time, the 2020 winners had a comfortable 21-0 lead. Sam Simmonds then saw an opening in the defense and ran through it, scoring one more point. This final touch of brilliance made the spectators cheer as they began to plan for their next match at the end of the month.

The Stormers’ team couldn’t prepare well for this game as they arrived a few days late in the UK from Cape Town. They had a bad start and got left behind, yet they started working harder at the break which paid off. Willemse scored their first goal after Senatla passed him the ball and Hartzenberg caught up with Jantjies’ kick for the second one.

Ruhan Nel’s 50th club appearance didn’t end well as he was blocked by Steven Kitshoff, preventing him from scoring a try. Henry Slade and Yeandle then worked together to score one more try during the Exeter rolling maul. Orie stopped Cairns’ box kick and won a race that was unlikely against the replacement scrum-half, but Cairns quickly defeated him by completing an Exeter move in broken field.
