Emma Raducanu hasn’t seen action on the WTA Tour since participating in the Porsche Grand Prix in April.
British tennis star, Emma Raducanu, recently made her way back to the practice court, marking her first time since her wrist and ankle surgeries in May.
The 20-year-old shared a video on social media, displaying herself practicing alongside fellow British player, Kyle Edmund, at the National Tennis Centre located in Roehampton on Wednesday.
“August 2nd, the enjoyable part. First time back on the court,” her Instagram post read.
Raducanu, once ranked as the 10th best player in the world, has been grappling with injuries since her astonishing US Open victory in 2021.
Since becoming the first British woman in 44 years to clinch a major singles title, Raducanu has failed to advance past the second round in any subsequent Grand Slam event.
In 2023, she played merely 10 matches, achieved victory in five, suffered four defeats and was forced to retire from one match, before she underwent surgery on both her wrists and left ankle.
Raducanu was unable to compete in the French Open and Wimbledon and it’s improbable that she’ll be fit in time for the US Open that commences on 28th August.
Moreover, she is currently without a coach, after parting ways with Sebastian Sachs in June.
