During the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday, Fiorentina’s Cristiano Biraghi suffered a head injury when he was struck by an object thrown from the stands. Consequently, Uefa has charged both West Ham and Fiorentina for their involvement in the incidents that took place during the match.

The charges against both clubs include the offense of “throwing of objects,” while West Ham faces an additional charge of “invasion of the field of play.”

The incident occurred in the first half of the game in Prague when something thrown from the West Ham end hit Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi on the head. Despite this unfortunate event, West Ham emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, has been charged separately with the offense of “lighting of fireworks.” Uefa has stated that a decision on the matter will be reached in due course.

In relation to the incidents, the local police in Prague reported the arrest of 23 fans, with one individual identified as a West Ham supporter and the remaining supporters aligned with Fiorentina.

Furthermore, prior to the match, a group of Fiorentina fans attacked West Ham supporters in a bar located in central Prague. As a result, 17 out of the 22 fans involved in the altercation were detained by the authorities.
