Frank Lampard, the former Chelsea and England soccer player, was back at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. This time he wasn’t playing as he had been 2 years ago when Chelsea let him go. It looks like Frank is returning to be the manager of Chelsea until the end of the season! His predecessor, Thomas Tuchel, was replaced by Graham Potter which only lasted a few days before being let go.
Chelsea, a Premier League soccer team, recently tied against Liverpool with no score in a game managed by Bruno Saltor. What’s more, the team has spent about £550 million on new players and is still fourteen points away from reaching the top four. This Saturday they will be playing Wolves and then two weeks later, on April 12th, they will play Real Madrid in a Champions League quarter-final match.
Frank Lampard recently came back to Chelsea Football Club, the club he scored most goals for. His first season as manager there was great; they were in the FA Cup final. During his period as manager, his team won 44 out of 84 matches, but in their last eight league games, they lost five matches – that’s as many losses as they had in the past 23 games before that.
After being fired from his position as manager for Chelsea, he was then hired to manage Everton in January 2022. His term as manager did not last long and after only a year he was let go due to 9 losses in 12 games of the Premier League.
