Graeme Dott just won against Andy Hicks in the semi-finals of a qualifying event for the Snooker World Championship. He’s now facing Englishman Matthew Selt in one more round to gain entry into the championship, but he says it’s “horrible” and that nobody should have to be dealing with such pressure. On Tuesday he’ll have to give his best if he wants a shot at taking part in the championships.
“Playing in the championships these past three years has been really tough. I would rather just go on vacation and not think about it anymore. But I’m hoping I can get there this year.”
Meanwhile, Anthony McGill faced an uphill battle against John Astley. He was down 9-7, but kept his cool and managed to pull a victory with scores of 136 and 98 in the deciding round.
At the upcoming World Championship from 15 April-1 May, two people will be going against each other in the final round. McGill is up against Cao Yupeng, whereas Thepchaiya Un-Nooh is facing Ricky Walden. Both pairs made it to the finals after beating Ben Woollaston and Mark Joyce, respectively.
