Jesse Rodriguez’s Controversial WBO Title Win: Sunny Edwards Called Out After Victory Over Cristian Gonzalez

by admin

Jesse Rodriguez won a world title last year and decided to fight in a lower weight class. His next fight was with Sunny Edwards from Britain, which he dominated and he was judged the winner. But at some point during the match, his jaw got broken. Jesse had to give up his previous title so that he could move down a division and compete in the lower weight class.

When someone asked him what fight should come next, he suggested the fellow Matchroom fighter and IBF flyweight champion – Sunny Edwards. He said that since Edwards had already been talking about it, they should make it happen!

Edwards is 27 years old and has never lost a fight; he challenged Rodriguez for a fight after winning his title with a unanimous points win against Felix Alvarado in November.

Rodriguez is also undefeated with 18 fights where he won 11 by knockout.
