Adama Bojang has been doing so great recently that he’s earned a new nickname – “The Gambian Hurricane”! He dominated in this year’s Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations and even got the Man of the Match Award because of his hat-trick in the quarter-finals. His league included 5 goals against South Sudan and one goal which was the winning goal against Nigeria!
People have been talking about Bojang’s performances lately and the rumors say that several big clubs from Europe like Spurs, Nottingham Forest, Marseille and Ajax are interested in him. Bojang is happy about this news but still wants to stay grounded. He said to a sport reporting site that he is excited about the news but also remains calm.
“It makes me feel better and I’m working harder to stay consistent. That motivation helps me a lot because it’s awesome when other people are rooting for what you do.”
By staying consistent, it will make them more eager to follow me.
Finding Strength in Family
Bojang says that football is something he loves because it’s all he has ever known. At first, his family wasn’t sure about him becoming a professional footballer, so they tried to get him to focus more on school. However, Bojang’s mom eventually understood how important this was for him and then started coming to his games to show her support. He said that she always sticks by him as they both work together to make his dream come true.
“You should always follow your dreams and do what you’re passionate about.”
Adama Bojang’s family provided him with the support he needed to participate in the Under-20 African Cup of Nations. His grandfather, Coach Abdoulie Bojang, has been with him since he was a kid and Adama says that his grandpa is one of the most important people in his life – contributing greatly to Adama’s success.
Bojang Chasing a Dream to Play with Real Madrid from Bakau, Gambia
Bojang plays soccer in the Gambia’s top division with Steve Biko FC. He’d really love to join his favorite team, Real Madrid, instead of playing in Bakau. His hero is Cristiano Ronaldo and Bojang tries to motivate himself by watching Ronaldo’s videos on YouTube after games.
Football teams in Europe are paying attention to a Gambian player, and soon he could be really popular online.
