Rudy Gobert Apologises After Throwing Unprovoked Punch at Wolves Team-Mate Kyle Anderson

Rudy Gobert, a center for the Minnesota Timberwolves, joined the team in 2022. Recently, he got into trouble with his team after throwing a punch at his teammate Kyle Anderson during their game against the New Orleans Pelicans. His team sent him home early as this kind of behavior was considered ‘unacceptable’.

He said that his emotions overpowered him and he admitted that it wasn’t a good idea to get angry whatever happened. He also tweeted out saying he shouldn’t have acted the way he did no matter what was said.

“I am sorry to our fans, the Timberwolves organisation and especially Kyle who is somebody that I really care about and look up to as a teammate.”

The Timberwolves beat the Pelicans which got them into eighth place in the Western Conference. This result gave them a spot to compete in the play-in tournament so they can go up against the Los Angeles Lakers for a chance to enter into the play-offs.

Anderson, 29, said after the game that he wanted to win, and his reaction was not unusual. Tim Connelly of Minnesota’s Basketball Operations team stated that Rudy Gobert had to leave due to his poor behaviour during the second quarter of the game. Connelly also mentioned that they will take care of Gimbert internally from their side.
