Heineken Champions Cup: Five-Time Winners Toulouse Overcome Sharks 54-20

Juan Cruz Mallia did a special test and was allowed to play in the Toulouse vs Sharks game. He scored two goals, which helped his team win by a lot. Thomas Ramos also played great and earned 29 points himself. In the end, Toulouse won 54-20 against Sharks!

The Sharks played 50 minutes and scored 2 goals. Grant Williams and Boeta Chamberlain were the scorers. They will now face the four-time champions Leinster in the semi-finals of the European Cup at Aviva Stadium. Before they arrived in France, they had a few travel issues, but Curwin Bosch made a great run which allowed Williams to score the first try!

Mallia was sent to the sidelines for a bad tackle on Makazole Mapimpi, but he was allowed back onto the field after being shown to be healthy and scored Toulouse’s first points. After that Antoine Dupont helped Ramos get another try for Toulouse and then Chamberlain ran to a flat pass from Lukhanyo Am and scored one more point for the Sharks.

Mallia made another move in a corner, but then Sharks’ had their try denied because the officials thought that Williams passed the ball too far while they were setting up their chance to get 2nd try. That decision changed things and soon Toulouse was feeling really good and scored four more tries in the last 12 minutes. Now, Toulouse has to face Leinster who also happens to be hosting the championship finals on 20th May.

Toulouse: Ramos; Mallia, Barassi, Ahki, Lebel; Ntamack, Dupont (captain); Baille, Mauvaka, Aldegheri, Arnold, Meafou, Willis, Flament and Cros. Replacement players are Cramont, Neti, Ainu’u, Roumat, Brennan, Placines, Retiere and Delibes.

Sharks: Chamberlain; Kok Am Janse van Rensburg and Mapimpi; Bosch and Williams; Nche Mbonambi Du Toit Anrdews Grobler Kolisi (captain) Tshituka Notshe. The replacements are Van Vuuren Mchunu Sadie Labuschagne Buthelezi Wright Tapuai Abrahams.
