Luke Shaw, a defender from Manchester United, said that their performance in the 2-0 loss against Newcastle United was really bad and not good enough. The Red Devils have lost or scored a goal in their last three league matches. According to Shaw, it wasn’t because of their football skills but rather how much Newcastle wanted it more. He states that this shouldn’t be possible for a team like Manchester United when it comes to attitude, passion, hunger and desire.
“Newcastle had a mission to beat Man Utd and they succeeded, which helped them move up to third place. We still have the potential for an amazing season, but only if we can recognize our problems and make changes immediately.”

Despite their loss over the weekend, Manchester United is in a good position to have a successful year under their new manager. Luke Shaw mentioned after the game that there’s still need for more work as players talked between each other right after it ended with no coaches around them.
We have to figure out the issues and leave them in the past. It wasn’t good enough; we had to openly talk about it with each other. Because we didn’t get a 6 point lead ahead of 5th place, United has another chance on Wednesday when they welcome Brentford at home – this is one of three games that will be held there.

However, Ten Hag disagreed with people who thought these cup runs would affect their performance in the league. He said that “every game is important” and they should come to Newcastle with the same enthusiasm and effort as their opponent.
“We didn’t do what we were supposed to and it ended up badly for us,” said Ten Hag. He was sure that his players would respond, because they had been doing so all season long. Manchester United have only won one match in the Premier League since their win at Wembley in February.

Gary Neville, an ex-player of Manchester United, stated on Sky Sports that the team has not been performant during important matches. He agreed that their coach needs to figure out which players can take them further and who he should drop from his strategy.
