France’s Impressive Victory in the Women’s Six Nations 2023: France 55-0 Scotland

by admin

France beat Scotland 55-0 in a Women’s Six Nations match. France scored nine times, with Emilie Boulard scoring three of them and Pauline Bourdon, Melissande Llorens, Gaelle Hermet, Gabrielle Vernier, Romane Menager, and Maelle Filopon each getting one try apiece. Scotland was not able to score any points throughout the entire match.

France’s win in the Six Nations game has put them just one point behind England. Scotland, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the leaderboard – they haven’t won any competition matches in twelve games. Even though France won 17-0, it was Scotland who had more possession and territory throughout the first half. They showed that they were very dangerous near to their opponents’ goal line with their great accuracy and scoring skills.

At first it looked like the hosts in Vannes had scored, but the pass they received wasn’t allowed. Fortunately, France didn’t have to wait much longer to make a goal as an offload from scrum-half Bourdon came after Llorens ran up to the blind side wing. Llorens was also able to get another score by Boulard kicking the ball over Scotland’s five-meter line when France stole their line-out.

Right before the break, France scored their third try. They took possession of the ball and passed it until finally Boulard successfully kicked in at the corner.

When the second half began, Gaelle Mignot’s team moved quickly. Boulard made an awesome offload from Verner and went for his second, bonus-point try.

Llorens almost got away before Chloe Rollie grabbed her and passed the ball to Hermet who scored a point. Scotland was feeling hot in France, and Bourdon gave Vernier the ball who ran forward and scored another point.

In just two minutes, France scored their 7th try. Everyone worked together to make a pass around the field before Caroline Boujard passed it to Boulard who got her third goal.

The 8th try was the best yet! All the players again worked together and passed back and forth until Marine Menager eventually passed it to her twin sister Romane who then successfully scored.

The last play of the match was made by the hosts and they succeeded in scoring a try on Scotland’s five-meter line. France did a great job during the second half, but Scotland wasn’t able to benefit from their first-half chances. They almost managed to score when they pushed towards the goal line during a maul, but it didn’t quite work out for them.

After the match, Scotland’s team manager Bryan Easson announced the good news that Emma Orr was conscious again and safe in the dressing room. She had been hurt earlier in the game with a bad head knock. These were the players who represented Scotland: C Rollie, L Musgrove, E Orr, L Thomson, F McGhie, H Nelson, C Mattinson; L Bartlett, L Skeldon, C Belisle, L O’Donnell (captain), L McMillan R Malcolm , E Gallagher, J Konkel-Roberts. The substitutes were: J Rettie, A Young, E Clarke, E Donaldson R McLachlan M McDonald M Smith and C Grant.
