England’s top-order batter Joe Root has decided to skip the 2024 Indian Premier League, echoing the steps of England Test captain Ben Stokes.

Root, aged 32 and a pivotal figure for England, made a limited appearance for Rajasthan Royals in the 2023 IPL edition, with only a single batting opportunity.
