Arsenal has managed to secure a deal valued at £105m to sign England and West Ham midfielder, Declan Rice.
Discussions are still underway about the specifics of the deal for the 24-year-old player.
This successful bid follows after Arsenal’s previous two offers fell short of West Ham’s £100m price tag.
Manchester City, who had a £90m bid for Rice turned down on Tuesday, have subsequently exited the race for the player.
Rice, the current captain of the Hammers, joined the club’s academy from Chelsea back in 2014.
He recently led his team to a victory in the Europa Conference League, marking their first significant trophy in 43 years.
His contract with the London Stadium was set to conclude in 2024.
The bid from Arsenal consists of a base £100m and additional £5m in add-ons. This initial fee matches the British record set by Manchester City for the acquisition of midfielder Jack Grealish.
Earlier this month, England midfielder Jude Bellingham transferred to Real Madrid for a base £88.5m, a deal that could reach £115m with add-ons.
Currently, the Premier League’s priciest signing is Chelsea’s £107m purchase of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January.
After West Ham’s triumph over Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League, chairman David Sullivan expressed his 99% certainty that Rice would be leaving West Ham this summer.
Since his debut in the 2016-17 season, Rice has scored 15 goals in 245 appearances for West Ham.
Rice has received 43 caps for England, including playing in every match at the previous winter’s World Cup.
