Charles Leclerc, the talented Ferrari driver, has broken a remarkable record with the sale of his race helmet, generating a staggering £368,800 in support of the victims affected by the devastating floods in Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

The iconic helmet, worn by Leclerc during the Monaco Grand Prix, fetched an astounding sum of 306,000 euros (£262,700) at auction, making it the most expensive racing helmet ever sold. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 162,000 euros (£139,100) set in 2019 for a helmet worn by the legendary Brazilian driver, Ayrton Senna.

The charitable event, titled ‘Charles Leclerc for Emilia-Romagna,’ proved to be a tremendous success, with the auction garnering a substantial amount. In addition to the record-breaking helmet, Leclerc’s race suit fetched £52,500, his boots were sold for £17,500, and his gloves were purchased for £36,100.

The helmet, autographed by Leclerc himself, was a unique piece specially crafted for his home race in Monaco, where he achieved a commendable sixth-place finish.

The floods in the Emilia-Romagna region resulted in the unfortunate loss of 15 lives, as torrential rains caused more than 20 rivers to overflow their banks. The funds raised through this auction will contribute significantly to the recovery and support of those affected by the natural disaster.
