Bayern Munich Secures Signing of RB Leipzig Midfielder Konrad Laimer
Having achieved back-to-back German Cup victories with RB Leipzig, Konrad Laimer has now joined the ranks of German champions Bayern Munich. The midfielder made the move from fellow Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on a free transfer, signing a four-year contract with Bayern.
Laimer’s decision to depart Leipzig was confirmed shortly after their triumph in the German Cup earlier this month. With 190 appearances under his belt since his transfer from Red Bull Salzburg in 2017, the 26-year-old midfielder brings a wealth of experience to his new team.
Expressing his delight, Laimer stated, “This is a dream come true for me. Bayern always sets the highest standards, just like I do. I feel that I am in the right place here.”
Bayern Munich clinched the Bundesliga title on the final day of last month’s season, finishing five points clear of Leipzig, who secured the third position in the league.
