Matteo Berrettini, a former runner-up, is determined to continue his remarkable performance as he takes on top seed Carlos Alcaraz in the fourth round of Wimbledon on Monday.
The 27-year-old Italian has been dealing with a recurring abdominal problem and was uncertain about his fitness for the tournament. “I missed out on too many events in recent years. I couldn’t leave this place without giving it a try,” Berrettini stated.
“There’s something special about this place. I feel a certain energy here that I don’t experience anywhere else.”
