Tottenham Hotspur has successfully finalized the transfer of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus, securing him on a permanent five-year contract.
Initially joining Spurs on an 18-month loan from Juventus in January 2022, with an option to purchase for £29.2m, the Swedish winger impressed during his time at the club. As a result, Tottenham exercised their option to buy him for a reported reduced fee of £25m.
Kulusevski’s contributions during his loan spell were significant, as he netted seven goals in 57 appearances and played a vital role in helping Tottenham secure qualification for the Champions League in the 2021-2022 season.
The 23-year-old’s international record is also commendable, having scored twice in 29 games for Sweden. In December 2022, he was honored with the Guldbollen award, recognizing him as the best Swedish male player of the year.
Kulusevski’s football journey started when he left Sweden at the age of 16 to join Atalanta. He later spent the 2019-2020 season on loan with Parma, initially from Atalanta and subsequently from Juventus, after the latter acquired him for £30m in January 2020, with a potential £8.5m in add-ons.
Displaying his talent, Kulusevski made an immediate impact at Juventus, scoring on his debut in September 2020. In total, he notched nine goals in 74 appearances for the Italian giants before his loan move to Tottenham.
