Eddie Hearn had mentioned before the fight that a loss could conclude Conlan’s professional career. Following the match, Hearn commented that Conlan faces a challenging path to reclaim world title success.

“Michael will decide his next steps. He’s surrounded by a great family,” Hearn said. “He’s a fighter who aims for the world level. After losing the world title previously, this defeat is indeed a severe blow.”
